Educational aims of the British Festival of Space:
To provide a forum for organisations involved in Space education, both in the UK and worldwide
To inform educators of the resources available to support teaching Space in the classroom
To provide activities and workshops for school children, concentrating on ages 10-14
Events for Schools
The British Festival of Space gives students in Key Stages 2-4 an opportunity to find out more this amazing field. Students can visit our exhibition and meet the real rocket scientists who work in our space industry.
Interactives and workshops will give students the chance to find out about the science and technology behind space missions.
Events for Teachers
The British Festival of Space is holding two sessions where teachers can find out more about resources available for bringing Space into the classroom. A morning session will focus on resources linked to the curriculum for Key Stages 1&2. The afternoon session will look at resources for Key Stages 3&4 and for post-16 students
Space Education Lunch
The British Festival of Space is hosting a lunch for people involved in Space education. There will be a “Soapbox” session where attendees can give brief presentations on current space eu focus on resources linked to the curriculum for Key Stages 1&2. The afternoon session will look at resources for Key Stages 3&4 and for post-16 students
